Short Stories by Carol Saunderson
"When I paint I am telling myself stories. Sometimes it is about the remembrance of an actual event, but more often it is a new narrative that emerges from the colours that I mix and the shapes that appear. The picture begins to tell me a tale. Each image is a stage set or a window, within which the characters materialise and live their lives. My work often has an atmosphere of stillness and contemplation, reflecting the peace that I find in the nature and the companionship of animals and birds."
