About the stone:
Yorkstone is a sandstone from Yorkshire. The stone used is a carboniferous seam sandstone with iron-ore making on occasion. Its overall buff colour comes from the presence of iron. The name for the stone is Woodkirk Brown - Woodkirk from the area near Leeds where it is quarried, and Brown as it tends to 'rust' (the iron) - giving the warm honey tones. Its fine-grained texture enables the smooth finish achieved.
A high quality, durable stone for indoors or out.
